Zanzibar Amber Resort Signs The Ritz-Carlton Zanzibar
Pennyroyal Gibraltar Limited has announced The Ritz-Carlton Zanzibar as the second hotel franchise to join the mega-development, Zanzibar Amber Resort. The intimate signing ceremony with Marriot International took place in Dubai on Wednesday, 26 April 2017 and is to debut a 90 room all-villa hotel due to open in 2021.
The hotel will undoubtedly be an experience on its own, bringing The Ritz-Carlton’s unwavering brand to Zanzibar with contemporary designed villas appointed across the Indian Ocean, including overwater villas each with a private pool. This hotel will have its own culinary experience with four restaurants and bars showcasing the distinctive brand and their chefs with curated dining and unparalleled escapades. A tranquil spa with eight private suites together with alfresco treatments will be available for the well-being of the guests, as well as an outdoor pool, health club, beach club and kids club facilities. For more corporate or leisure and personalised events, intimate meeting rooms will accompany the hotel.
Five world-leading international hotels are planned for Zanzibar Amber Resort and The Ritz-Carlton is an impressive addition to the 5-star luxury tropical community, with Anantara Zanzibar to be the first to open in 2020. Blending prestigious hospitality establishments with world-class lifestyle facilities, the resort will encompass the first Signature Golf Course in East Africa, designed by Ernie Els, a deep-water marina, aqua park, international polo club and super yacht facilities.
“We have been very selective in our partnerships with international hospitality brands and believe Marriot International and The Ritz-Carlton will add increasing value to the resort,” explains Saleh Said, Director of Zanzibar Amber Resort. “The core goal is to boost tourism in Zanzibar and eradicate poverty but in order to do that we need to build a tourist destination that is renowned globally. Aligning with well-established brands that already have recognition around the world is just the start of the bigger picture.”
The first phase of development of Zanzibar Amber Resort is underway and will conclude by 2020. This includes the immaculate entrance to the resort, the Signature Golf Course, the first International Hotel, the marina and over 200 luxury apartments which for the first time in Zanzibar’s history, will be available to purchase by expats.
