Walk the Talk for Wildlife In War Zones

Get those walking shoes out on Sunday 29th September and help to protect wildlife in war zones by walking for animals from Durban’s Ushaka Marine World to SunCoast. Everyone will gather outside Moyo Restaurant on the Ushaka Marine Parade at 8am to start the walk. Make a day of it – there will be lots of children’s activities at SunCoast, such as jumping castles, water slides, face painting and more.
Book online at COMPUTICKET @ R60.00 per entry – if you really can’t make it, your ticket will still be used as a donation in support of WILDLIFE IN WARZONES.
Lawrence-Anthony-Earth-Org-LogoThe Lawrence Anthony Earth Organisation would like to submit a petition to the United Nations on behalf of ALL South African’s, and need 50,000 signatures to facilitate a resolution that has presented the United Nations. Zoos, Wildlife Reserves and Animal Sanctuaries are fast becoming Noah’s Arks for critically endangered species. It is for this reason that The Earth Organization has presented the United Nations with a resolution that will protect captive wildlife in times of war.
The resolution requires the protection of facilities where wild animals are kept temporarily or permanently, including facilities used for the preservation, research, breeding, treatment or study of wild animals, as well as the protection of people working at these facilities, local organizations and aid organizations. The resolution also includes the reclassification of certain forms of damage to protected geographical areas during armed conflict as War Crimes in order to safeguard such areas as Wildlife and Marine Reserves.
