Uganda’s Protea Hotel Getting Bigger and Better
Cape Town, 20 September 2016: Entebbe’s 4-star Protea Hotel by Marriott Entebbe, is set for refurbishment and expansion. Its beautiful location on the shores of Lake Victoria, as well as being a convenient 1 kilometre from the airport, makes this hotel one of the most beautiful and accessible in Uganda.
“Having good occupancy levels at the hotel in the past, we have decided to add 13 rooms to meet the demand. This includes one suite,” explains Stuart Cook, the Managing Director of Protea Hotels (U) Ltd. “We will also refurbish all the existing bedrooms and corridors, so guests will see new-look bathrooms, brand-new air-conditioning, and new beds and carpets.”
Work will begin on 1 October and is scheduled to be completed by the end of December this year, a period of 13 weeks. Cook reassures guests that, “We do not anticipate any negative impact on our guests during this period. Work will be confined to the daytime from Monday to Sunday, and any after-hours work necessary will not include any noisy activities. In addition, the work is restricted to one wing of the building only. This means that guests can enjoy their meals at the restaurant and relax at the terrace, the bar and the pool deck without any disturbance.”
The hotel will remain open throughout the period of the refurbishment, and welcomes all guests in the usual manner.
