The Sports and Events Tourism Exchange (SETE) gets involved in a good cause
The Sports & Events Tourism Exchange (SETE) Conference and Exhibition, taking place from 22 -24 October 2013 at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC), has identified the “I’m_Possible Foundation” to receive various sporting donated by the visitors to SETE.
The “I’m_Possible Foundation” was founded in 2012 by a group of young passionate hockey players with a focus of giving low income children an opportunity to participate in sports by providing them with the necessary equipment and resources. “We have dedicated ourselves to ensuring that as many underprivileged children experience the fun and character building lessons that can only be taught by sports. Together with your help, we can make this possible,” comments Chiara Benati Chairperson of I’m_Possible Foundation Chairperson.
“I’m_Possible Foundation’s” core purpose is to fulfill the dreams of children of any race, colour and creed between the ages of 3 and 18 from underprivileged back grounds. The idea is to equip promising sports pros with a kit and equipment that they themselves or their parents are unable to afford. The intangible benefits you can give these children, sportsmen and women through this organisation will be the lessons of self-discipline and hard work that can only be achieved through participation in sports and teamwork.
“We are truly grateful for this amazing opportunity and encourage the 2013 SETE community to donate equipment of any sort towards the cause. Your unused cricket bat, tennis ball, outgrown rugby boots or old canoe may be the much needed assistance and motivation needed by a promising youngster. It’s everyday heroes like yourselves that make this initiative a true success,” comments Chiara Benati.
“We invite all visitors and corporates to support the worthy cause by donating new or good condition used sporting goods of any kind, enabling the “I’m_Possible Foundation” to continue giving hope to children through continuous development to reach their full sporting potential,” comments Sugen Pillay, Business Development Director of Thebe Exhibitions and Projects.
The items can be delivered to the Durban ICC at the allocated drop-off points around the venue. The equipment will then be handed over to the “I’m_Possible Foundation” on Thursday 24th October.
