Fancourt’s Manor House Named Tripadvisor Winner
Further to receipt of guests’ personal recommendations and reviews on Tripadvisor, the Manor House at Fancourt has been announced a winner in the 2016 Traveller’s Choice Awards. As an annual award, it is bestowed on properties around the world, in a variety of categories, because the best opinions that one can seek when booking a holiday, are naturally from previous guests. The Manor House was ranked 13th of the 25 top Luxury Hotels in South Africa category, placing it firmly on a ‘must-do list’ for travellers.
“Our daily focus at The Manor House is to deliver a superior service, in the luxury setting of the hotel, and an accolade such as this is well received validation of the standard we strive to achieve.” remarks Georgie Davidson, CEO of Fancourt. “Receiving such recognition is indeed a great honour because it comes directly from our guests and so is in no way contrived, just good honest opinions from satisfied clients.”
This is in fact the second award that The Manor House has received of late, having also won the title of “Africa’s Best Romantic Hotel” at the World Boutique Hotel awards in late 2015.
Small and intimate yet intensely stylish, this classical, 19th century hotel is the crown of the Fancourt Estate. With just 18 beautiful, individually decorated suites, access to Fancourt’s superbly decadent spa and three 18-hole golf courses of which The Links is the best in the country, this boutique property is the perfect base from which to explore the highlights of South Africa’s famed Garden Route.
As a South African National Monument, The Manor House was originally built in 1859 and owned by Henry Fancourt White, the engineer who supervised the construction of the Montagu Pass stretching from the city of George over the Outeniqua mountain range to the town of Oudtshoorn.
