#CelebrateThailand This #TourismMonth

It’s THAI TIME in South Africa, with the focus over this #TourismMonth firmly on this popular Southeast Asian tourism destination. Initiated by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT – SA office) #CelebrateThailand will see a month-long celebration of all things Thai with a dedicated Thailand Day taking place on the 27th of September – World Tourism Day.

Designed to coincide with South Africa’s popular tourism month and very much in keeping with the tourism flavour for September, Thailand Month aims to raise awareness of the “Shades of Thailand”, representing the rich and diverse experiences the country offers travellers from all over the world. The focus will be on every aspect of Thai culture, from the country’s rich history and heritage to its food and stunning natural beauty.

Thailand Month will also highlight a diverse selection of travel packages to Thailand, which has cemented itself as the premier Asian destination for South African travellers looking for adventure, breath-taking scenery and world-class hospitality.

Known for its stunning tropical beaches, idyllic islands, crystal clear seas and incredible people, Thailand is a truly amazing country, dotted with ancient ruins and ornate Buddhist temples. Its capital Bangkok blends ultra-modern facilities with iconic temples like Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Wat Phra Kaew – the Emerald Buddha Temple. Then there are the incredible Thai festivals including Loy Krathong – the Festival of Light – which takes place this year on 23 November and Songkran – Thai New Year – on 13 April each year.

Thailand Month will be sharing what it is that makes Thailand so special and so appealing to South Africans from all walks of life. From Chiang Mai in the mountainous north to Phuket in the south, Thailand has something for everyone, whether backpackers, couples, families or discerning individuals in search of immersive experiences.

Every day throughout Thailand Month, Amazing Thailand’s social media platforms will be sharing something special and unique about the country and showcasing incredible destinations, building up to a dedicated Thailand Day event.

Taking place at the beautiful Kai Thai restaurant at Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg, on 27 September, members of the public can book tickets to experience the beauty of Thai culture and its fabulous food in one fantastic, one-of-a-kind interactive Thai evening, where they’ll find out more about Thailand and what it has to offer from Amazing Thailand and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) itself.

After a welcome drink, guests will be treated to a display of Thai dancing, an interactive cooking session and enjoy a sumptuous buffet dinner, followed by a lucky draw offering lots of amazing Thai giveaways and prizes. Thai therapists will also be on hand to demonstrate soothing massage techniques.

From spa therapies to Muay Thai demonstrations, food tastings and exciting giveaways, this exciting event is designed to promote student travel to Thailand.
