Thailand reaps rich harvest in top of Traveller’s choice 2013 Awards
Nine of Thailand’s diverse range of tourism spots, products and attractions have been included on the list of TripAdvisor’s Top 25 Landmarks in Asia. They ranged from long-standing and well-known places such as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and the Temple of Dawn to the Hellfire Pass Museum in Kanchanaburi to Black Mountain Water Park in Hua Hin.
Commenting on the list, TAT Governor Suraphon Svetasreni said, “We are extremely pleased to see many of our popular products and services getting this recognition. It underscores the status of Amazing Thailand as a place of tremendous diversity, with both natural and cultural attractions catering to visitors of all demographic segments.”
TripAdvisor is one of the world’s largest travel industry websites, with more than 60 million reviews and opinions by travelers around the world.

Traveler Description: Wat Phra Doi Suthep is beautiful – located on the hills – it is a 30 min drive from the city centre. The cable car can be used by aged travellers who do not wish to negotiate the 300 odd stairs to the temple. Camera is allowed everywhere except in the main prayer hall of the temple. One can first visit Queen Sirikit’s winter palace (another 10 min drive) and then return to visit the temple. The view of the city – the airport runway from the temple is stunning!
