Table Mountain Aerial Cableway

The best views of Cape Town are seen from the top of Table Mountain, an official New7Wonder of Nature.

The Cableway takes visitors to the summit of Table Mountain in less than 5 minutes, and the cable car’s rotating floor ensures that all visitors get a 360 degree aerial view of the city.

Once on top, one has a view of the Cape Town city centre, Table Bay, Robben Island, Lion’s Head and Devil’s Peak, the Cape Flats out towards Khayelitsha and Mitchell’s Plain, the Hottentots Holland Mountains and even across the Table Mountain range towards Cape Point. 2km of pathways lead visitors to many vantage points to enjoy the views and tranquility. The Lower Station and Upper Cable Station, as well as its pathways, are wheelchair friendly.

Short guided walks depart from the Twelve Apostles Terrace on the hour from 9h00 to 15h00. The guided walks are offered free of charge. Visitor facilities at the Top Station include The Shop at the Top and the Table Mountain Café. The unique and interesting shop offers a wide variety of souvenirs and gifts to keep the entire family happy. The Table Mountain Café is open for breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Meals may be complemented with a selection of fine wines.

Cableway tickets can be purchased online or from the ticket office. The Cableway operates weather permitting.
