SAACI CEO Resigns
Johannesburg, 21 May 2019 – The Chief Executive Officer of the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI), Rudi van der Vyver, has resigned.
Van der Vyver joined SAACI in 2017 and, following his resignation, will be joining EPH Events as Managing Director in July.
Commenting on Van der Vyvers’ resignation, SAACI Chairperson Wayne Smith said: “SAACI acknowledges the energy and enthusiasm Van der Vyver displayed during his time at the association. He led SAACI’s operations with passion, established solid systems and played a meaningful role in the association, retaining its position at the forefront of the business events industry,”
“Our collaboration with industry members and stakeholders, locally and internationally, is particularly strong at this point. In addition, our financial position is firm and there is a strong focus on our value proposition in everything we do. Our annual congress and regional events continue to deliver cutting edge content and high-level networking opportunities to our members.
“It has been a privilege to work with a dedicated and skilled team of board executives and colleagues.
“I am grateful for all the long hours and hard work SAACI employees and partners have put in to boost the association to be the recognised body of the business events industry in southern Africa and Africa.
“We wish Van der Vyver all the best in his new position. We will begin the process to fill the SACCI CEO position and will communicate progress to members and the industry.”
