Richard’s Supper Stage Moves to Rockwell Hotel
Friends and supporters of ‘Richard’s’ and the popular ‘Kaapse Stories from the Mother City’ theatre production will be pleased to know that the show will move to the Rockwell Theatre in the Rockwell Hotel at 32 Prestwich Street in Greenpoint, Cape Town. The first show will be performed at this new venue on Thursday 2nd March 2017.
“A number of circumstances compelled us to search for a suitable and upgraded venue to house our dinner show, and the Rockwell Theatre is the most suitable venue to house our dinner show,” says Roland Seidel.
According to Seidel, the move brings with it some great enhancements:
- More effective air conditioning
- Wheelchair friendly
- Extra space for comfort
- Flexibility for growth
- Improved sound
- Modern bathrooms
- Improved vision.
“The content of the ‘Supperstage’ will be transferred to the Rockwell Theatre and we are currently planning and contracting the decoration of the Rockwell theatre to guarantee the ‘Look and Feel’ of the current venue. The Dinner Theatre team and all members of the cast including show Director, the widely acclaimed Basil Appollis, will all remain with the show. This team will be merged with the team of Colin Judin – General Manager of the Rockwell Hotel.
“We can assure you that our award-winning show ‘Kaapse Stories from the Mother City’, which has now played for 4 years and 9 months – since June 2012, over 1000 shows to 120 000 people – will continue its tradition of offering the audience an outstanding and memorable experience. The offering regarding the show and the meal, as well as the price point, will remain unchanged.
“I thank all of our supporters for their ongoing support, which has made it possible to create and sustain our dinner show, which so proudly shows off, through its authentic direction, the unique talent and cultural history we are blessed with in the Cape,” Seidel concludes.
Bus parking is available right in front of the building as well as undercover with secured parking for passenger cars and Kombi’s below the building.
