Reunion Island to Exhibit at Meetings Africa 2017
Taking place on 28 February and 01 March at the Sandton Convention Centre, Meetings Africa is the ideal opportunity for visitors to meet and connect with the Reunion Island Tourism Board.
This year’s theme is focused on sustainability and with tourism a key driver of sustainable development on many islands, including Reunion Island, the tourism board is looking forward to talking to many interested parties about how it can better interact with buyers from around the world about the ultimate experiences on offer in their Indian Ocean Island paradise.
Reunion Island is a mere 4-hour flight from Johannesburg, departing 3 x weekly, on Air Austral, making it an ideal, easily accessible, short haul destination for MICE business. Furthermore, South African passport holders do not require a visa to enter Reunion Island on visits up to 90 days.
Located in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar and 175 kilometres south-west of Mauritius, this island destination is a region of France and it is known for its volcanic, rain-forested interior, offshore reefs, beaches and Creole culture, all combining to provide a perfect destination for stress-free business meetings, Incentives, and events.
Preparing for the event in a couple of weeks’ time, Stephane Bonneau, Head of Marketing and Promotion at the Reunion Island Tourism Board, said that Reunion Island is delighted to be exhibiting at Meetings Africa for the first time this year. “Business travel and MICE are focus segments for us at Reunion Island Tourism and our destination boasts some unique experiences that we are excited to talk about and share with key visitors at the event”, said Bonneau.
