Oyster Box Kicks Off 2014 with Awards
The Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga, South Africa says that it will not rest on it’s laurels in 2014 after garnering another industry accolade at the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s inaugural Tourism Awards towards the end of last year. At the event to recognise Durban’s leading and most popular tourism and hospitality establishments, The Oyster Box won the award for the Best Hotel.
“This award is particularly special,” says Wayne Coetzer, geneeral manager of The Oyster Box, “as it is an accolade from those we work with daily and who interact the property first-hand. It is a real compliment and we are incredibly proud.”
This is the second industry award the Oyster Box has won in 2013, when the hotel and The Grill Room restaurant, each picked up PMR.africa Awards at the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Survey for 2013. The restaurant took First Place in the category Executive Restaurants receiving a ‘Diamond Arrow Award’ and the hotel received a ‘Golden Arrow Award’ in the category Executive Hotels.
These awards are given annually to companies and institutions who, following an independent survey, have over a 12-month period, done the most in their sectors to stimulate the economic growth and development of the province, as well as to profile the KwaZulu-Natal Province as a growth point and potential investment area for foreign and local developers and investors.
