India Taps Into $3 Trillion Healthcare Tourism Market

Healthcare tourism is set to be worth 3,000,000,000 USD by 2025, according to a recent survey*, and CIMGLobal, organisers of India’s most comprehensive healthcare tourism event say the country could be a world leader in the field.

The International Healthcare Tourism Congress (IHTC), returning to Bengaluru this March, hosts 150 influential Medical Tourism agency buyers from targeted countries and more than 50 national buyers. Representatives from 20 international hospitals will also be there to arrange collaborations with Indian hospitals.

The buyers are there to make deals with local suppliers, something which Congress organisers say could transform the healthcare business in India.

IHTC Director Anitha Niranjan said, “Healthcare tourism is a growing business, and IHTC is the perfect opportunity for Indian healthcare suppliers to set the agenda and lead the world. Buyers are keen to do business with India, and this is the perfect opportunity for us to tap into that.

“Currently, we are fifth in the market, but the opportunity is there. We want to help providers to close that gap,” she added.

Delegates to the two-day conference will also get the opportunity to meet and network with influential policy-makers and bosses from some of the biggest companies in the field, along with getting the inside track on the latest developments in the industry.

The event will feature around 50 speakers from all disciplines sharing their knowledge and taking part in panel discussions. The IHTC’s influential delegates will include 30 senior government members, including the health ministers of Somalia, Mombasa and Malawi.

IHTC 2018 will be held between 2nd & 3rd March, at Vivanta By Taj – MG Road, Bengaluru, India. Full details and registration are online at www.ihtc.in
