Gabriëlskloof turns on the charm with Love Box
Estate’s popular Lunch Box transformed for the month of February
Cupid meets country decadence at Gabriëlskloof Estate, when this wine and olive jewel of the Overberg transforms its popular Lunch Box experience into a Love Box of tantalising taste temptations that will turn on the charm all February long.
This love-struck spread of homemade goodness, freshly prepared by restaurant owner and chef, Frans Groenewald, promises to cast a romantic spell at this family estate with its idyllic hillside setting outside Bot River during the Month of Love.
“What’s not to love about Gabriëlskloof! We have internationally acclaimed wines, beautiful views, award-winning olive oil and awesome pairing pleasures in our tasting room, not to mention our deli and restaurant, famous for its hearty fare that embraces the true essence of the region. With our Love Box we will woo friends and loved ones to think “outside the box” and enjoy an informal snacking style lunch together on the lawn,” shares Nicolene Finlayson who heads up the Tasting Room.
Gabriëlskloof offers the perfect retreat to rekindle that spark and with its Love Box it lures enthusiasts (single or hitched!) to venture outside and engage with the estate’s beauty and bounty in its tranquil courtyard, framed with a lush green lawn and glistening ponds.
At R300, the royal Gabriëlskloof Love Box is perfect for two adults and features all things pretty and pleasant to indulge in while you whisper sweet nothings to your partner. Think salmon, strawberries, chocolate marquise pots, candy floss and milk shake with a twist…what’s inside will depend on the ‘love potion’ in the kitchen and deli on the day.
“Our Love Box will be on offer long, after the chocolates have vanished from the shelves and the red roses have wilted, so don’t rush to make it on the 14th. It offers the perfect excuse to come and spend a day in the countryside, amidst all the harvesting action,” adds Chef Frans.
Love is in the air at Gabriëlskloof all year long and it shows in its delicious wines, which beckon to be enjoyed either outside on the grass or in the tasting lounge, where relaxed tastings, temping Food & Wine Pairing Pleasures and friendly staff come standard.
Those not wanting to drape themselves on the estate’s greenery can continue their food and wine love affair at the tables inside the popular restaurant or outside on the inviting stoep.
Gabriëlskloof is open daily for lunch and wine tastings – except on Tuesdays – and pre-bookings for the Love Box experience are essential. For bookings and more information contact
