Entries for Tourism Film Festival-Africa Open
JOHANNESBURG, Sandton, 03 July 2019 – The organisers of the inaugural International Tourism Film Festival-Africa (ITFFA) are calling on interested parties to enter the festival’s film competition by submitting their tourism films, travel videos, documentaries, TV reports and web docks.
ITFFA is the first-ever film festival in South Africa scheduled to convene in Cape Town and Northern Cape from the 20-24 November 2019. The screenings and Film Conference will be hosted in the Northern Cape at the Apollo Theatre in Victoria West.
Organised by the Sustainable Tourism Partnership Programme (STTP) with the support of Brand South Africa and in Cooperation with the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), ITFFA aims to contribute to the development of domestic and international tourism while encouraging growth in the local film industry.
“We have created a platform for Africa to showcase itself as a filming destination as well as a Tourism Destination. We have the skills, the talent, facilities, and great weather to encourage international filmmakers to produce their commercials and films in Africa,” says Caroline Ungersbock, Festival Director of ITFFA. “Growing the film industry automatically grows the tourism industry as film productions require, among other services, accommodation, catering, entertainment, tours, and transport.”
The festival has two competition sections – Tourism Communications and Tourism Documentaries. “We urge you to enter the competition. It is Free, and will only take five minutes for a chance to win an award with worldwide recognition. This is an ideal opportunity to increase the visibility and exposure of your work, to promote your product, and to reach a worldwide network,” concludes Ungersbock.
To enter, go to the ITFFA website at https://itff.africa/ and register.
