Big Ideas for Large Meetings
The previous two posts on this theme looked at 4 Big Ideas 4 Small Meetings (for up to 12 executives), and Big Ideas for Medium Meetings (for up to 80 people). This post concludes the theme for large sized meeting venues (for up to 430 people), which is really a conference but still a meeting never the less, writes Des Langkilde.
The Spier Auditorium lies adjacent to the Eerste River and has impressive views of the Helderberg mountains. The tastefully decorated public areas are furnished with antiques and contemporary South African art from the Spier Collection. The Auditorium can seat up to 430 people in theatre-style configuration, 280 in banquet-style, 250 in classroom-style, or 100 in u-shaped seating arrangement.
Three breakaway rooms within the Auditorium can be used separately or combined to seat 250 people. The aptly named Simonsberg, Stellenberg and Helderberg rooms are each identical in size (12.50m x 9.00m) and can seat 80 people in theatre-style, 60 in cabaret-style or 50 in classroom-style seating configuration.
Then there’s the Spier Wine Tasting Venue, which can accommodate between 100 to 280 people for a large meeting with banquet-style seating. This venue features a large reception area, lounge with comfortable seating around the fireplace and an outside area that maximizes the views. The building combines contemporary décor with the heritage for which Spier Wine Farm is renowned. A central feature of the venue is a unique chandelier, made by renowned artist Heath Nash using 334 recycled Spier wine bottles, which hangs over the state-of-the-art tasting counter.
Of course your large meeting delegates will need to be fed, and Spier’s delectable menu of wholesome farm grown food can be served either onsite in the selected venue or at any one of three restaurants situated on the estate namely the Eight Restaurant, the Hotel Restaurant or the Hoghouse Bakery & Cafe. Alternately, your team could opt for a supplied picnic, selecting food and beverages, including Spier’s famous wine selection, from the Eight To Go Deli. BANQUETING at the conference facility is also an option.
Wrap up your meeting with a glass Spier’s award winning wine while watching a spectacular African sunset over the Spier dam and Helderberg mountains. Or treat your mentally drained execs to a rejuvenating massage at boutique Spier Hotel Spa followed, or preceded by a Segway or Eagle Encounters tour.
And finally, when your large meeting concludes why not check-in to the hotel and allow your delegates to relax – perhaps with partners included.
