One of the world’s biggest and most popular social sport and entertainment festivals, the Zando Cape Town 10s, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in February 2018. With the event already generating strong pre-sales, tickets are expected to sell out in record time.
The 10th annual event will return to Hamilton Rugby Club from 2 to 3 February 2018, featuring a winning blend of the tried and tested sporting disciplines plus four exciting new sporting codes. All will be in the presence of the world’s biggest sporting legends, with the backdrop of an iconic host city. This celebratory year is set to attract old and new fans to the event that has captured the hearts and spirit of our sports-mad nation since 2009.
The internationally acclaimed event and winner of the Discovery Sports Industry Award for Best Live Experience in 2016 will feature a staggering 8 different sporting codes including rugby, netball, dodgeball, beach volleyball as well as the newly introduced sports of 5 aside soccer and hockey, the ‘Run the 10s’ fun run and a unique fitness event.
Over the years, 10s has featured a number of memorable moments, including guest appearances by the world’s greatest sporting legends: the late, great Jonah Lomu, Tana Umaga, Christian Cullen, Bryan Habana and former Protea skipper Graeme Smith. It’s going to be interesting to see the 2018 line-up, which is set to be announced in the coming months.
For those that aren’t too fussed with the sporting aspect, there is the entertainment, which further cements the event as one that appeals to everyone. Guests can expect a world class entertainment line-up featuring top local and an international music act in 2018. Fokofpolisiekar, GoodLuck, Sketchy Bongo, DJ Sox, Majozi, the Light Years and much more will all take to the stage inside Africa biggest beer tent!

Launched in 2009 by rugby legends Bob Skinstad, Rob Fleck and their long-standing mate Ron Rutland, the event has come a long way since its start, with 22 rugby teams and a total of 350 teams expected to participate across the 8 sporting codes in 2018.
