Wednesday 14 March 2018 turned out to be First Group’s night at the RCI Annual OSCAS awards, with over 70% of the award wins going their way, including the prestigious Diamond Resort of The Year awarded to La Côte d’Azur.
The OSCAS, now in its 30th year, was hosted in Johannesburg by the world’s largest timeshare exchange company, RCI and is recognised as the most esteemed industry awards event on the South African timeshare calendar.
First Group properties won 10 of the 12 Top categories, once again showcasing themselves as an industry frontrunner.

In addition to winning 3 of the 5 Top Resort Categories, First Group also scooped several awards in the Comment Card category, which are awarded to resorts with the highest scores received from guests. These awards included Unit Maintenance, Housekeeping, Resort Maintenance and Check-In and Check-Out.
Over and above the 10 out of 12 awards, RCI’s 2018 Green award went to Magalies Park for their active engagement in environmental initiatives, and La Côte d’Azur and Port Owen Marina each took home an award for their significant investment in the renovation of their resorts.
A notable 13 Gold and Silver Crown RCI gradings were added to First Group’s list of accolades along with 7 employees receiving awards for outstanding performance – highlighting the Group’s commitment to staff training and development.
The ceremony ended on a high note when the final and highly anticipated announcement of General Manager of The Year went to First Group’s Petra Meyer for her excellent management of La Côte d’Azur.
